Customizable PowerDMS Homepage

Did you know you can personalize your PowerDMS homepage to reflect your agency’s identity, boost engagement, and simplify access to key info?

I've seen some creative uses during recent assessments — from birthday shoutouts to countdowns for assessments , rotating slideshows with assessor photos (check out my Content Hub Helpful Tip article titled "PowerDMS Homepage"), and even links to PowerDMS user trainings.

There are three customizable sections — and each is updated in a different spot. Here’s how to make the most of them:

1. Page Header

The large text banner at the top of the screen when users log in.

Steps to modify:

• Go to Administration Menu > Site Configuration > Settings > Homepage
• Locate the Header Title field
• Enter your preferred text (e.g., “MyHomeTown Police Department” or “Welcome to Our Sheriff's Office”)
• Click Save

Keep it professional and clear — this is the first thing staff will see!

2. Logo Section

Your agency’s patch, badge, or even a seasonal logo appears in the top right.

Steps to modify: 

• Navigate to Administration Menu > Site Configuration > Settings > Homepage
• Upload your image in the Logo Upload section
• Supports .PNG, .JPG, or even .GIF
• Click Save

3. Welcome Message Box

The main space on the homepage — fully supports text formatting, images, links, and more.

Steps to modify:

• Go to Homepage, just under the logo
• Click on the pencil icon
• Use the editor to customize your message
• Click Save

This is where the real fun begins — popular additions include:

Birthday or promotion announcements

Countdown to mock or on-site assessments

Slideshow of assessor team photos (see my tip titled PowerDMS Homepage)

Links to user training materials or quick start resources

 Upcoming policy reviews or training deadlines
