Compare Manuals: View the Past, Understand the Present
If you've ever wondered how a standard has evolved — or you're reviewing an agency still working under an older manual — PowerDMS has a feature that’s often overlooked: the ability to compare standards manuals, even if there’s no “New Version Available” button showing.
This tool is helpful when:
You want to understand the timeline of a standard's changes
You’re preparing for an assessment and need to reference older versions
You’re an assessor reviewing an agency on a previous manual
Here’s how to find and use it:
Navigate to the standards manual you're subscribed to in PowerDMS.
Click the three vertical dots (?) to the right of the manual title.
Select “Revisions” – this opens a list of all past versions of that manual.
Click any version to load and view it in the main window.
From that same dropdown, select “Manage” to access the admin side of the manual.
Click on the “Revisions” tab at the top.
Choose any two versions to compare side-by-side and spot what’s changed.
This works for any manual you're subscribed to, whether you’re maintaining your own files or reviewing someone else’s.
Here's a link to a quick video I made showing both these options: https://app.membership.io/watch/kqkOo1Omq4
