Assessor Login Options
Few things cause more stress on assessment day than assessors stuck at the login screen. PowerDMS gives you two ways to set up assessor accounts. Here’s a clear step-by-step breakdown of both methods, plus what’s changed recently with system security.
Option One: Agency-Created Credentials
Pros: You control the process, you can confirm access.
Cons: Slightly more work since you’ll need to reset the password again after testing.
Option Two: Assessor-Created Credentials
Pros: Less work for you, assessors manage their own passwords.
Cons: Requires assessors to act before Day One.
Final Thoughts:
Timing matters: Avoid granting rights too early, unless you're ready to or else limit the rights of what they can see. Do it early enough to test and confirm access.
Always Test: For Option One, log in once and then reset the password again. For Option Two, follow up to confirm assessors have activated their accounts. Testing is the single best way to prevent login headaches.
Both login options work. The real success comes from preparation: timing access correctly, confirming credentials, and testing before Day One. Do this, and your assessors—and your agency—will thank you.
